Det Norske Veritas (DNV)
DNV was the first company to receive approval from UN CCC (The UN Climate Convention) as a certifying institution connected to CDM-projects. In early 2005 they certified the world’s first hydro electrical power plant in Honduras that gave rights to trade CER-quotas. Today DNV control approximately 50 percent of the global market in this sector and fills a very prominent and strong position in the market.
NASDAQ OMX / Nord Pool
NASDAQ OMX is the world’s largest exchange company with trading, technology and public company service capability spanning 6 continents. NASDAQ OMX offers capital raising solutions to companies around the globe and is number one in worldwide listings with over 3,900 companies representing $5.5 trillion in total market value. NASDAQ OMX offers trading across multiple asset classes including equities, derivatives, debt, commodities, structured products and ETFs. Its technology supports the operations of over 60 exchanges in 50 countries. NASDAQ OMX owns and operates the largest integrated securities market in Northern Europe. These are world leading energy exchanges and the first to trade Kyoto-related products (both EUA and CER quotas) and also the first to establish an energy exchange on the basis of a de-regulated energy market. Most of the activities related to delivering exchange systems designed for energy trading originate from R&D work carried out by The Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) located in Halden. The results were later commercialized through NASDAQ OMX. Nord Pool will become an important tool in the strategy applied by NASDAQ OMX for further expansion within the trading of raw materials and climate related commodities. A central player in this context will be the Halden Centre of Expertise (HCoE).
Statkraft
Statkraft is the largest Norwegian power company and has a clear focus on green energy. Recently, Statkraft became Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy through completion of an asset swap with E.ON AG. By this, the Statkraft Group’s total generation capacity is increased with approximately 2,500 MW. Statkraft also has Europe’s most extensive capacity for effect regulation. Statkraft has been associated with the Halden cluster for the last 20 years and is in the front of the developers of Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) for physical energy trading. Statkraft has chosen Navita Systems (Halden based company delivering IT systems for multi commodities trading) as one of a few main partners within the field of activity-critical IT-systems. Navita is an important partner for further expansion of these activities in the Nordic countries and elsewhere in Europe.
Fortum Markets
Fortum is the largest electric power company in Finland with a mixed production from hydroelectric, nuclear and gas driven power plants. Fortum covers the whole value chain of electric power production, distribution and power lines. Fortum uses Navita’s Pomax trading platform.
Østfold Energi
Østfold Energi is an important regional producer of electric power, and one of the customers using Navita’s Pomax trading platform. In addition, Østfold Energi is supporting innovative business development initiatives, like the Halden Centre of Expertise, and regional research, like Østfold Research. Together with the Municipality of Halden and SIVA, the Industrial Development Corporation of Norway, Østfold Energi is one of the largest shareholders of Inkubator Halden AS, the innovation company that promoted the Halden CoE.

A world leading company for market analysis related to the carbon markets and also with substantial activities covering analysis and consultant services within the power and gas markets. Hydro Energi
