Ultra dense 3D integrated circuits and pixel parallel processing image sensors

The EU-project 3D-MUSE explores circuit design in emerging ultra dense 3D-integrated CMOS technology. With 3D integration, image sensors will soon be feasible where each pixel has its own analog to digital converter (ADC), enabling high-speed imaging for consumer market devices. Extending this concept with further pixel parallel processing can open up various real-time image processing applications that have hitherto been too computationally demanding.

Design of a new class of anti-cancer antibodies

How we have developed a novel technology to prolong the serum persistence of antibodies. The concept will improve the bioavailability of antibodies targeting cancer such that more cells are killed at lower doses, which consequently may cause fewer side effects.

SIRIUS is a SFI (Centre for Research Based Innovation) with focus on
digitalization in the oil and gas industry. Waaler will in this talk address challenges and opportunities for innovation for the SFI centres. Then he will address a technology developed in SIRIUS with pilot users in industry, and with potential for commercialization.

Batteries. Solid electrolytes - finding a solid that conducts like a liquid.

All-solid-state batteries promise increased safety and higher energy densities and thus represent a promising pathway to next generation energy storage solutions. Nevertheless, there are still lots of critical challenges to overcome. We describe how fundamental materials research can contribute to the understanding of promising solid-state electrolytes, inform their further improvement and assist in the discovery of new materials.
