ISS will take over operations of the food service offering at Oslo Science Park from July 1, 2026. “The offering you know today will continue, while at the same time we have a clear ambition to raise the quality and further develop the concepts,” says Sohaila Bakhtiar from ISS.

ISS is a well-established provider of food and catering services in Norway and will take over operations of Parken Bakeri, the two canteens, and meeting catering.

“We want the food service offering to feel relevant and attractive to those of you who work at Forskningsparken, and we will therefore continue to develop it in close collaboration with ISS and the tenants,” says Toril Røssaak, Service Manager at Oslo Science Park.

Parken Bakeri

The coffee bar will be further developed as a social meeting place, offering quality coffee and a wide selection of food throughout the day.

“In the morning, we will offer nutritious porridge made from scratch – a simple and healthy choice for a good start to the day. Later in the afternoon, we will make delicious, affordable toasts,” says Bakhtiar.

The coffee bar will also serve as a practical pick-up point. “Issadora,” the in-house version of Foodora, will make it easy to pick up overtime meals or take dinner home. Opening hours will be extended until 4:30 PM.

The canteens

“At Forskningsparken, we are fortunate to have two canteens where you can choose whatever appeals to you most that day. Going forward, the two canteens will become even more distinct from each other,” says Toril Røssaak, Service Manager at Oslo Science Park.

The larger canteen at the north end of the park will serve familiar dishes based on high-quality ingredients and classic flavours. The daily offering will include two hot dishes, one of which will always be plant-based, in addition to soup, a salad bar, and a bread and sandwich buffet.

The canteen at the other end of the glass street will feature a more international menu with one clear thematic direction at a time – for example, Mexican or Asian cuisine. The overall theme will change four times a year, while the weekly menu will vary within each theme. This canteen will offer portion-based service with a fixed price per dish.

Meeting catering

The meeting catering offering will be updated with new menus and a user-friendly ordering process.

“The menus will be adapted to the time of day, the type of meeting, the number of participants, and the preferred style of service – whether it is a breakfast meeting, simple meeting catering, or standing finger food,” says Bakhtiar.

Snacks and digital solutions

“Since the nearest shop is a bit of a walk from Oslo Science Park, we want to make it easier to grab a little energy boost during the day or if you are working late. We are therefore pleased that ISS will offer self-service ‘Trust shops’ available 24/7, overtime meals based on fixed weekly menus, and a mobile snack trolley that will circulate through the building,” says Røssaak.

New ordering and payment solutions will also be introduced, including self-service checkouts and app-based payment.

“More detailed information about ordering and payment solutions, as well as opportunities for subsidising the canteen offering for employees, will be communicated well in advance of launch,” Røssaak concludes.
